What is an Angel Investor?
An angel investor is an individual who provides capital for a business start-up, often in exchange for an ownership stake in the business.  In many cases, angel investors fill the gap in start-up financing between "friends and family", which may be a limited source of funds, and venture capitalists, who often only consider investments of $1 million or more.  The angel investing process has historically been relatively informal, but in recent years an increasing number of angel investors have organized themselves into angel groups or networks to share research and pool their investment capital.

Angel Investment Community in Pittsburgh
The Pittsburgh area has a vibrant angel investing community, which includes various angel networks, groups, and individual investors.  The speakers and discussion leaders for this event have founded, managed, and invested in various local angel groups and start-up businesses.  Join us at this event to learn more about angel investing and how to get involved.  Find out more about the local angel groups and networks and how to begin evaluating investment opportunities.
